Institutional framework
How role requirements, authorisation and continuing competence are defined and monitored.
People are appointed only when competence and independence can be evidenced.
Each role has scheme-specific requirements covering technical knowledge, audit skill, recent practice and impartiality.
Initial authorisation, witnessed practice, continuing development and performance review are recorded.
Names, offices and committee memberships are published only after formal appointment, approval and verification.
Authorisation states which schemes, technical areas, delivery modes and functions a person may perform. Technical expertise in language teaching or testing does not automatically confer audit skill or decision authority.
Continuing competence is supported by recent practice, calibration, witnessed work, technical development, feedback and review of completed assignments. Restrictions, supervision or reauthorisation are applied when evidence is insufficient.
The public team directory contains only formally appointed people with approved professional biographies.
