Purpose and scope
Accessibility
Certiqual seeks to remove avoidable barriers to information, applications, professional learning and assessment without changing the competence or quality requirement being evaluated.
01
Accessible information
Content is structured for keyboard use, meaningful headings, readable contrast, alternative text and compatibility with common assistive technologies. Plain explanations accompany technical language where precision permits.
02
Reasonable arrangements
Requests are considered individually against need, feasibility, confidentiality, fairness and the construct or requirement at issue. An arrangement may change access, timing, format, communication or environment, but must not remove an essential competence or invalidate the decision.
03
Request and feedback
Contact Certiqual as early as possible, describe the barrier and requested support, and provide only information necessary to decide the arrangement. Accessibility problems on the website or in a service are logged, prioritised by impact and followed through to resolution or a reasoned response.
Mandatory controls
What the policy requires in operation
- An accessibility request is handled confidentially and only on a need-to-know basis.
- Equivalent access is preferred over a lower or different quality requirement.
- Decisions and reasons for arrangements are recorded consistently.
- Feedback is used to improve future content, process and service design.
Public accountability
